this is freaky, but it describes me very very closely too.

Your view on yourself:
You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.

The seriousness of your love:
Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

Your views on education:
Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:
You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:
You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:
You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

Who is your true self:
You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

think i could start a few articles about perth in general.
maybe it helps pple to understand what's different in perth.

bus system 篇

transperth is the name given to transport system.
mainly the bus network and train

the bus system took some time to get used to, because it is different from singapore.
it has no smart card system!
so how do we pay fare?

1. pay by cash, the driver will give you change on the spot, cos he has a money tray to give changes. then he issues you a ticket.

2. pay by card, which you slot into a reader which then punches the time on it. it's called a multi-rider card with different designated travels (like multi-rider 10 equals to 10 travels using this card)

so comes the impt part.
everytime you pay for a ride, your ticket/card is valid for 2 hours. in that 2 hours, you can transfer between buses or trains at no additional fees. so you pay for 2 hours ride with 1 payment. the shrewd thing to do is to take a bus to city to do grocery shopping and take the return bus home within 2 hours. you pay only once!
as a student, that ONCE is 50cents if you use the multirider 40. it's concession and 25% less than the usual 80cents for 1 ride.
BUT WHERE GOT SHOP FOR LESS THAN 2 HOURS ONE?....
but then again... transport is therefore cheaper in perth... you dun pay for per ride like in singapore.

there is a diff in fares when we talk about zones. within 5km of town centre is one zone. travelling out of this zone to another wider zone, you need to pay twice like inserting your card twice. but this is confusing and doesn't bother me. i shall not put more than twice even if 2 zones. hmph.

bus follows a timetable system. at every timed stop, you can see a stand with published timing of arrival of the buses. therefore you will know when buses arrive! like if i know my next bus is 2.15, i'll leave home at 2.10 to walk to bus stop.
better than singapore where buses like to come sometimes in 20min (late) or come in 2 or 3 same buses in one shot.

but the real good is in the drivers.
the culture first.
people actually thank the drivers when they alight!
and it's a very common sight.
now about drivers: they are very friendly, and when you board the bus, they usually greet you and smile at you! makes each ride a happy one.
well... maybe cos there are a lot of older man, but then again i see a lot of woman drivers as well, and even young lads (20+)! (not kidding), and i have never seen any bus driver lose their temper yet!

there's certainly some things that the spore bus system can learn from
maybe can tell my dad to inform the SBS Board of Directors. ha.

beautiful Matilda Bay along Swan River, just beside the school.
can see yachts are the far side. water activities are held at a boatshed nearby.

holidays is just one week from now.
and angeline and me just decided that we have been studying too hard here, and we shall now enjoy our last 3 months here.
guess where was i this whole day?
studying in the library. ha.

contradicting fool.

but staying in lib to study in aus is quite cool, cos there's less people in the lib, and you tend to meet more of the international students (exchange and study abroad). and ANYWAY i always do that day in day out at NUS. what's new? >>>>> but i find myself having to go home earlier now. Cos we COOK. me and the other 2 guys usually have dinner about 8, so we will always be home around then to eat. REASON why we must eat together, is that usually we rotate the cooking and washing. if i'm washing tonight, then of cos i can come back after 10pm to eat, THEN WASH.

and in the end, i'm a more homely person now! (like real)
but i think i really am.

i've been the only one who has been cleaning the house. so far, i've been vacuuming the house, cleaning the toilets, and scrubbing the sinks. seems like time to come up with a cleaning roster. feeling like a sucker already. maybe i shouldn't, so as to adhere to my ideal of harmonious communal living.

this is Winthrop Hall of UWA. quite an icon.

James Oval situated in the middle of campus, at dusk
to the bottom right is Reid Library where i hang out to study.

Alisia. Fellow exchange student from HK. doing psychology also.
and me in my blue fleece jacket. i'm probably easily recognisable cos i wear the same fleece almost everyday! what to do. DUN LIKE TO BE COLD....

haha

i think i'm just too indulged in life in aus that i dun blog.
well. excuses.

perth is still boring.
and winter is an excuse for myself.
i'm really not too good with the cold.
people who know me well might know that i have very little body hair.
that is a big factor in my feeling more chills than others too.
another big factor in me feeling helpless about the cold, is the "helpless feeling" itself.
when your morale is low, you dun have the mentality to withstand the cold.
you just scramble for the heater.
well... in my house, i'm the only housemate with heater, lent to me by weiqi and ben.
the other 2 dun have, as the heater is 2400w and eats super a lot of electricity.
bills can hit danger levels... like 300.
so basically water is cheap in aus, but electricity is ex.
and to cut down on expenses, we came to a consensus not to use the heater.
well, i still use... the more i use, the more i succumb to it.
esp in the morning, when you just wake up, you put on your specs and it's cold, you step on your slippers and it's cold (used to be floor, as i have no slippers), and then you start to shiver a bit, cos morning, w/o the hot sun, is still cold.
most of all, i think when people just wake up, their determination and discipline are the lowest. succumb to difficulties easily. haiz.
so i think i should be offering to pay a little more of the electricity bill.

this is my room in perth.
