it's being really some time since i touched something here.
it's been long.
sometimes it just seems that the blog is not necessary anymore.
i have sort of learnt over my uni life... how to share, and disclose to people.
i thank my increasing and steady social support.
my friends.
but i think maybe i owe those who come to this blog a short update of my life.
first of all..
the new year curse strikes again
i was strucked by a condition known as Pnuemothorax on 3rd day of CNY, and only recovered on Yuan Xiao, last day of CNY.
for you who might be wondering what is Pneumothorax...
it literally means "air in the lungs"
a bleb formed and burst (an air sac burst) and air escapes out of the lungs, in the cavity btwn chest wall and lungs.
LAYMAN'S TERM: my right lung partially collapsed
it's a spontaneous condition, so i.e. no known cause, but it is common among tall and thin people.
i had a tube inserted to drain out air,
hoping that the lungs would patch back itself.
which didn't,
so i had an open surgery to fix everything, but got myself another two drains after the op to drain blood and air.
i'm done, finally, but recovery went on for a few weeks.
i'll not spent too much time on the details... will tell it next time...
AND i'm 90% back to normal now.
still dun dare to exercise yet... in case i aggravate anything....
although my follow ups were good
well i plan to write about this whole incident... but never really got down to writing.
anyhow i got a good break.
a break i ever ever so craved for.
this is the most impt take away point i have also for this incident.
i have not been active in swaps for this semester.
after absolut camp, i was a utter burnout.
no longer had the energy to do that much.
at this point of time, if i was still a christian, i would prob think, maybe God gave me this break.
but this is not really realistic.
whatever happens, this turns out to be a good break, because i dealt with my illness positively.
otherwise, this would be a super traumatising event for me.
a negative me might say that, on top of my toils in swaps, i'm strucked down by illness now.
but i didn't.
i saw the oppurtunity to rest (although i was seriously planning to go out by the next day, and everyday it dragged)
i like this break
i'm catching up with my studies.
i enjoy the time for reading when i use to have that same slot for mtgs or designing some poster, updating website, articles, coordinating sub comm, or planning for camps.
not being able to catch up with everything, but i guess it was enough.
my interest in psych was re-fuelled by abnormal psych, bio psych, and health psych.
i thank my better understanding and learning strategies.
there is a silver lining behind each cloud?
maybe.
i dun even really fully appreciate this phrase's meaning.
but i got luck with one silver lining this sem.
thanks
