The holidays are ending.
3 months.
I dun feel I had a holiday though.
Looking back, I was involved with Army all over again right after Exams,
Meanwhile there was FOC stuff to worry about and plan about.
Then I had my Redang short break
Then I came back, cleared leave in army, but devoted everything to FOC stuff.
So... all the way till FOC, and till it was over,
And still have to worry about the post FOC stuff,
while I also "chap" myself into Matric Fair.
Got myself into some shit with DnD,
and yup... before you know it...
school is starting in 2 weeks time from now.
I dun feeeeeeel any holiday really.
I've enjoyed working with my FOC Programs Cell.
I felt I've learnt a lot of management and other skills through my "holiday" experiences.
I had my long awaited break.
I have gotten myself a Canon A80 and accessories and really having fun with my camera now.
I have lost and gained things.
Which i think made me stronger?
Pity this holidays i heard a lot of bad news.
3 of my female friends lost their mothers during this holiday.
Two sec school good friends, PC and WQ.
One Uni friend, F.
Well, it's very sad, cos now they've got to face life with the loss of one close family.
I dunno what i will do.
It makes me somehow more aware of my parents.
Dun take them for granted.
And thus frustrate at my ineffectiveness in communicating with them
Not showing enough concern,
Not showing enough care and love.
Think i should.
Dun wait till they are over.

swaps quest 04
the quest is over
finally.
na said: look towards the camp, not after it.
jav said: (with regards to us the programmers meeting up DAILY one 10 days before camp) never mind lah... you're going to miss all this meeting when it all ends.
yah i do miss the camp a bit now, though we had huge responsibilities to take up
yah i do miss the programmers and all those meetings we had
we must have clocked 21 x 24 hours meeting time liao right?
shiyun, javen, linyen, yvonne,
thank you all so much for staying so committed to the programs
the high level of tolerance and excellence we displayed,
the desire to do it well and do it good, even if that means we will be doing it all by ourselves
the sacrifices we all made from our personal time (yah i was struggling between watching a 2 hour dvd or spending time touching up the
roles pictures, and yes.. our 10 to 3am meetings)
for putting up with each other's temper (quote from shiyun)
for taking up all the extra work when help seems to fail us in the initial part.
3 days of camp.
for all to see.
our hard work fulfilled.
our late nights do have some worth
(us still slogging and double checking the program on the eve of the camp @ 3am)
and thanks nana.
for taking up the admin job
that did take a big burden off program's shoulders
(disclaimer: like we were supposed to do that....)
and personally, for always being there to hear my problems
and be our advisor.
there are so many people who i want to thank.
maybe you all should just take a look here.
as an individual,
i've polished myself during this camp
taking up responsibilities
leading by example
coordinating events and details
working out inter-personal relationships
putting personal feelings aside and carry on with the work
brainstorming events and forseeing errors and lapses
and as javen says about "Murphy's Law"
what will go wrong will go wrong
but at least i have thought up a contingency plan or something to cushion the cock up.
Most importantly, i've won for myself close comrades.
Shiyun:
Really, you are different now from when you first took up the project.
i know you have to learn alot
but looking at you during the 4 days of camp
you've grown in leadership, planning abilities, crisis management,
you've done yourself proud.
hope i didn't overshadow you too much.
or i didn't push you too much
but only by pushing you to the stage will you get a chance to learn
the hard way no doubt.
but face it now when you can still make mistakes.
thanks for being so appreciative.
thanks for showing me how to be appreciative.
thanks fellow LJ honours student. (LJ for lame jokes)
Javen:
You and I clash the most in the cell
cos we have seemingly different ideas.
like we always do since the days of publicity cell
it's amazing how everytime we worked it out
always at the right time, you take a step back
or i take a step back
and after work, we always chat our heart out, like the quarrel didn't happened.
i've learnt a lot from you also did you know that.
you have a heart to forgive, to step back and analysis
there's still a lot i can learn from you.
a different style of management which though i dun wholly agree, but would love to explore.
and thanks for accomodating me so often, when i'm so stubborn.
you're a good friend found.
Lin Yen:
Miss Busy
i wonder how you can do so much and still stay committed to everything.
that takes lots of patience and capability
but should let you know how wonderful it is for programs cell to have you.
dun mind taking up hard work
seldom complains (not like i do)
thanks for turning ideas into reality.
if not we're just wasting time thinking
and for taking down all the notes all the time
you're an easy person to work with.
and for always there when we needed support.
Yvonne:
Von von ah, like shiyun, you've totally changed from the person i knew during MAF2003.
you can take up a lot more things now.
and handle them with zest and better vision
can see that you've learnt to organise stuff and hold meetings much better when i saw you sorting out the knight and lady part during pre camp.
you've always been the bubbly one in the cell
always creating laughter for us to destress.
to try our games and offer good opinions.
you're great gal.
quest, a marvelous project done.
by amateurs in retrospect
but by no means they are going to be brought down without a fight.
it could have been a good fight...
it could have been not
but what remains in the end is not the fight
but the respect we have gained for each other
the teamwork and bonds that we have accumulated
the fight won't last a lifetime
this bond does.

i'm quite stressed out.
trying to take too many things under my hands.
but isn't it good to have everything sorted out properly?
too perfectionist.
then i start blaming others.
i know i should let go.
but i feel i'm being responsible by not letting things falling into shit.
how should i resolve my internal struggles...

i am back from redang...
beautiful place.
and yes, those rumours about clear water...
they
ARE
NOT
rumours
i will post more photos online
then will post the link here.
There is not much at Redang to do
but you did not go there to try to do much either.
to me, it's meant for relaxing.
a true getaway.
in the coming 2 weeks,
will be very busy with SWAPS FOC
it's getting tough being a programmer
because we are not just programmers.
haiz
strength of campers is getting healthy,
and if any of you people interested in psych or social work,
