oh damn... shagged

back from my normal monday jogs...
but quite tiring.
it's about one hour liao... and i'm still damn hot~~~!!!
if i dun sit under the fan now... i'll be perspiring
ho man.
i did 35 min of running.
(and yes.. i think i gave people the wrong idea when i say jogging. my definition of jogging is really jogging at a comfortable pace... damn i'm running with a constant pace that completes around 3.5 km in 17 min)
and i'm really rusty.
not been running consistenly after the biathlon.. now my body fibres are complaining! ha

my right ankle is not recovering man.... around 4km it starts to send out pain signals.
now i stand on the mrt i would not lean too long on right leg... cos i can feel the irky feeling coming back.
and just as i was making coffee... i only bent a little... wow... a sensation on my lower back...
my body is not too fit now huh?

while clearing the newspaper... came across an article... "dun bend it like beckham!"
it is telling people that doctors do not check whether your legs are not of equal length when you see them for back problems. But a clear example is Beckhamm, who is famous for his free kicks, has long-short legs.. that gives him back injuries! eh... maybe i should go and check my legs some day also... i can't be having lower back problems for nothing....

hey to all muggers out there... if you can... exercise!!!
it greatly improves your stamina... you can concentrate longer when studying!
(just dun overdo it like me)
and yes... it helps you to release stress also... so why not!!!!

another recommendations for muggers...
my new found haven in the library is the singapore/malaysia collection area....
why there?
it's not cold!!!! when you enter there from the borrowing area... you will find that the spore/m'sia area is warmer...
and it's relatively quiet.... hee...
great location!
all the best for exams!!!

interesting analysis... quite accurate
http://www.idealpartner.org.uk/ipbi/WhatJob.asp

The two grids above are called Numerology Grids. The numbers from Zhisheng's birth date - his Gregorian calendar birth numbers - are inserted into the Western Grid in certain positions. His birth date is then converted into the Chinese lunar calendar, and the equivalent Lunar birth date numbers are inserted into the Chinese Grid, but in different positions. In this way the Chinese and Western numerological interpretations complement each other.

Character, personality and employment characteristics are gleaned from the position of those numbers in each grid, the quantity of each number, and the lack of numbers. Comments on each number (or sets of numbers) are recorded below. Green arrows represent positive characteristics derived from having three numbers in a row (horizontal, vertical or diagonal), whilst red arrows represent somewhat negative characteristics derived from three blanks in a row. Be aware that to read numerology grids accurately takes a lot of practice, and before acting on what you see here you should study the whole subject in much greater detail. Nor should you disregard the profound influence of genetics and upbringing.

Coming soon: in response to users' demand, in April 2004 this site will be extended to provide a fascinating analysis of an individual's future based upon character and personality traits as defined by Chinese Astrology and Numerology. For in-depth compatibility analysis now, please go to http://www.idealpartner.org.uk.

---------------

Ki System

Natal Year number: 9
A cheerful soul, Zhisheng is an attractive individual whose humour and charm can inspire others to follow his ideas. Although his active brain can generate many bright ideas, he cannot be guaranteed to finish one idea before starting on the next. Although money tends to burn a hole in his pocket, Zhisheng will always maintain the impression that all is well.

Natal Month number: 5
A realist who brings a practical approach to problem solving, Zhisheng's confident outlook will soon lead him to a position of leadership. Because he has developed fixed views on the important things of life, Zhisheng has an inner core of confidence that will at times make him appear stubborn. Yet such a trait is so well balanced with the gentle side of his nature, that his personality appeals to a wide audience.

Natal House number: 9
Zhisheng will work better in attractive surroundings that complement his appearance and character. A natural charmer with good taste and a sense of humour, Zhisheng has the potential to be an inspirational leader in the workplace. Although a good "people person", he tends to let money slip through his fingers all too fast.

Comments based on Western Grid

1

Although Zhisheng may be reasonably talkative in public, he finds it difficult to express personal feelings to those closest to him. In employment terms, this inhibition is of little consequence.

22

Highly intelligent and acutely sensitive, Zhisheng is a good judge of other people's motives and character. He enjoys high intelligence, and with a number 7 (in the Western Grid) he would be suited to a vocation in the priesthood. Sensitive to the needs of others, Zhisheng should be employed to the benefit of those who lack the advantages enjoyed by others.

8

Good with details and with a methodical approach, Zhisheng nevertheless is someone who enjoys constant new challenges to maintain his interest. He is a methodical individual with attention to detail, but is inclined to leave tasks unfinished if his active mind alights on something of greater interest. Routine tasks that fail to challenge his intellect are at greatest risk, so Zhisheng needs a job that offers variety.

99

Enjoying high intelligence, Zhisheng is inclined to look down on those who are not as intelligent as he. Hence he does not mix well with society in general, and in particular with different social strata. Yet Zhisheng is very ambitious to improve his lot, and will constantly strive for a better standard of living. He also possesses strong humanitarian ideals that may find expression in charitable work.

[The Arrow of Scepticism: lacking the numbers 3, 5 and 7] Taking little on trust, in adult life Zhisheng requires solid proof before he accepts a concept. Characterised by honesty and fairness, he is quite intuitive, yet firmly sceptical of the claims made, for example, by religion. This may be important at work, if employers require employee acceptance of work practices that are not immediately verifiable.

[The Arrow of Frustrations: lacking the numbers 4, 5 and 6] Zhisheng finds it difficult to accept other people as they really are, and is constantly disillusioned with life. Once he accepts that others are only human, the frustrations will cease.

Comments based on Chinese Grid

111

Zhisheng enjoys a positive and balanced approach to life and will be financially successful. If the Chinese version also contains 2 sevens, Zhisheng is very fortunate.

2

Zhisheng has an average mind, and without the numbers 4 and 9 in the Chinese version will not enjoy a creative existence.

6

Zhisheng is family-orientated, and needs a pleasant working environment as well as a comfortable home.

8

In the absence (in the Chinese version) of the numbers 1 and 6, he will be good with money and details. He will be happier if the Chinese grid includes the numbers 5 and 7.

9

Although Zhisheng is ambitious, his ambition is tempered with humanitarian ideals.
[The Arrow of Loneliness: Lacking the numbers 3, 5 and 7] Zhisheng is so determined to achieve his objectives that he does so at the expense of all else, including friends, family, love and laughter.
[The Arrow of Prosperity: The numbers 1, 6 and 8] Zhisheng is suited to the commercial world because he is determined to make money - if necessary at the expense of all else. Without the numbers 3, 5 and 7 (in the Chinese version) Zhisheng will be a cold and calculating individual who will achieve his aims with total disregard for the feelings of others.

except the chinese grid wasn't that accurate... otherwise,.. it has quite a good description of me!

sometimes i also wonder...
i can be quite a loner at times...
i enjoy my personal freedom so much.
i have total control over my time,
can suddenly have a change of plan as to where to go,
will i get used when i get a girlfriend?

Life just hits every one with choices each day, doesn't it?
know wat you want,
weigh your choices,
and go with your heart.

gaozi, cherish this privilege of choice,
there are people in this who didn't know choice existed.

yah... it's just me

i was set thinking about myself again...
hey, not day dreaming again.. but self critic again.. or finding a reason for why i behave this way that way.
i'm hard on myself man,.... simply agree with my id...

i think i'm quite an organised fellow.
do you think so?

extrinsically, being organised makes things looked planned, and let me approach things systematically watever,
intrinsically, it calms my fritter conscious mind, it'a an outlet to let go of my anxiety, it tells my mind, "you plan liao, shelve your worry, relax..."

sometimes i just got too many things on my mind, so getting organised is a good way to max my time to do the most things!

so i just hate it, when i planned something, and someone comes along and wreck it...
hey dun think i'm spoilt or something boy,
getting organised takes time, planning, and knowledge,
for example now, i've already have a plan of roughly wat to do till start of next sem.
and my build up for exam is roughly in order already also...
the worse time to come and wreck my schedule is on the day itself,
I WOULD HAVE COME TO SCHOOL HAVING PLANNED MY DAY ALREADY...
usually one item after another, cos i dun like to waste time.
so dun blame me when i get angry or frustrated when you suddenly pop up and ask my help.
cos it means i have to shelve some of my work, and replan and squeeze in some time to do those stuff.
yah,.. esp when in swaps, those publicity work, then i've got to squeeze 3 days work to 1 day, and that is simply frustrating, making me think , what the hack am i torturing myself for?

yah... but as my heading says... it's just me...
you see that it's just me feeling bad, just me feeling shitty.
when people ask for your help, they probably think you are capable enough to help.
yah so be happy zhisheng
but most of the time boy, most of the time, people are also just looking for other people to throw the responsibility to, and being nice and all-accepting, i always kenna lots of shit, esp in army, so shitty.

my purpose today is just complaining again (something i think i'm using too much), or is it?
i like to help people, just dun take me for granted, because of the inner struggle i feel (to be selfish and care for myself OR help you and be happy), you must have being worth something for me to shelve my work in the end to help you.

i should learn to cope with myself too lah...
but zhisheng, also realise, dun live for others, you would be very sad, because you can't possibly satisfiy everyone.

before i pen off, here's a clip for you all to enjoy. will take a bit of time to load.

clawing my way back to studying now.
why clawing...
after recovering from hell week last week, i simply found it hard to start the machine again.
actually i am still studying.
just that i feel that it's not alot compared to last week's workload.
so i feel inferior for this weeks effort.
strange.
but although i kept switching from tv, computer and study today...
i think i have slowly gained back the momentum for studying

exam in 3 weeks.
everyone work hard.
then 1 academic year is over.
damn i still feel i'm only just out of army.

My inner child is ten years old today

My inner child is ten years old!

The adult world is pretty irrelevant to me. Whether
I'm off on my bicycle (or pony) exploring, lost
in a good book, or giggling with my best
friend, I live in a world apart, one full of
adventure and wonder and other stuff adults
don't understand.

educating the public!

no, i haven't been wrongly accused or wat.
it's just a sudden thought.

having subscribed to straits times and reading newspapers everyday b4 coming to school,
i began to realise a lot of things
so i generally believe now reading newspapers is good.

but ok the issue is that while reading up for my project, i came across this heading that says Special Population. In that content they were talking about deaf children and mentally retarded children and their relation to child eyewitness memory. Ok the deaf word stuck onto my mind.
I started thinking do deaf people talk?
i think they dun, cos they can't hear sounds, and learning to speak is a great part imitating sounds that we heard.
so probably deaf people dun speak and uses sign language too.

i remember seeing quite a couple of times couples communicating using sign language on the MRT.
i wasn't discriminative, dun worry, just that i would look longer at them, because that is unusual !
and yes, they were just like us, except they communicated using sign language.
but not all of us would look at them without a tendency to discriminate. Definitely.
And i strongly believe ignorance is one big stumbling block.
I hypothesize that if i ask 10 who saw this couple, half of them would tell me that they found them weird, interesting, funny or cannot give me a definite answer.
This group are highly likely be the group that i would think are likely to not be associated with them, or would be likely to associate negative thoughts with them.
This can set the stage for discrimination.

Yah, remember i'm not saying that there won't be people who find them interesting and want to know more about them.
The point is that if we can raise the awareness among people about people with special needs etc, let them know about it, and learn to cope with them, and treat them as normal, a lot of tension could be reduced.

A very good example is the 911 WTO incident. The whole world saw Osama as the villian, and in most places, associated all Muslims to be antagonists. Hey, it just happened that Osama and JI were Muslims, not that all Muslims are terrorists! But most of the world didn't see it this way.
Darul Grafran in Tampines, a mosque, is opening up it's management matter to be more open, and educate people about the Muslim culture, because they believe, only thru letting people understand them, would suspicions and worries be reduced.

Should be try to know more about special people around us, or should the government try to do that for us?

You are AIR
YOU ARE AIR!

Your inner element is one of change and growth. You
are an intensely intellectual and curious
person who simply must know the answers to
everything. You question everything about the
world and the people in it. Because of your
constant search for new things you are blessed
with the ability to change and adapt to most
anything. You love people and tend to get
active in causes that interest you. You tend to
attract many friends but don't tend to hold on
to them for great lengths of time. Any career
that stimulates your desire to learn or develop
new things is ideal for you. Love for you tends
to start out as friendship and build into a
life-long commitment. You look for trust and
openness in your partner, and once you find it
you will let yourself fall completely in love.

Your greatest strengths are your incredible ability
to learn and adapt to all things. Your
weaknesses are your inability to slow down and
let others catch up. If you aren't careful, you
will leave too many people in the dust.
Balancing your strengths and weakness is
crucial for you to achieve balance in life.

Astrologically, Air is associated with the signs of
Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. You are most
compatible for either love or friendship with
another Air Elemental or with an Fire. You are
least compatible with a Earth Elemental.

Now that you have an idea of your strengths and
weaknesses, why don't you put them to the test?
If you follow my lead I can take you to a game
world where you can explore different sides of
yourself and taste real power....

afterthoughts of surviving a battle

yeah baby.
the last 4 days were hell for me.
but i'm glad i made it. Really.

let me recap a bit.
the one week following up was just as hectic.
well... the last 2 weeks following up was just as bad.
hey... the previous previous month wasn't as good as well.
wakau,...
last month, hmm.... vday bazaar ended.... i was like totally shagged out by that.
2 weeks of really mugging for 3 mid term followed. catching up on 6 / 7 chapters each is really not easy
hmmm then it's 3 days of 7 hours each day searching for article for dev psych essay.
2 days of reading and comparing.
ok so ... now it comes to this past fri.
Cheong all the way for dev psych essay. Night FOC meeting.
Then went to stay over at Andy's PGP hostel (woah ... he's damn neat man!)
cheong my essay again from 10 to 3.30.
slept till 6.30, woke up.
dear man.... gene and i carry 2 trolleys full of brochures and booklets to LT8 for pre-u sem
one day of hard work, so sad still it was the 2 of us only to bring everything back to LT8, with a little help from von.
when everything ended at 4, i went to library to cheong finish my essay again.. till 6.
shengyin said i'm an ironman,... i think i am sort of that day.
then i went to squeeze my way to visit IT Show at Suntec City, with my damn heavy bag... walked around checking out for possible digital camera. (i'm sourcing one now)
i practically collapsed when i reached home.
next morning, sun, woah... i spend one whole day, from 11 till 2.30 at night, working on my Term paper for SW1101E.
cannot finish.
mon morning, today, quickly read through 1 and a half out of 4 journals in preparation for Dev Psych Tutorial
then rush to finish off SW essay.
yah ... i finally finish and made it at 5.30
damn shit man... i'm so surprised with little sleep, i managed to keep on a fighting mode the whole day.
at night at least i enjoyed something i liked.
shall talk about that otherwise.

but what a hectic way i have came thru.
is ARTS really that slack?
(ok,... minus the fact that i'm so heavily involved in CCA)
well,... i shall rest and recuperate for one day or two... and continue to cheong for my Dev Psych Project due next week. Then the Science of Music composition and essay the following week.
Then you know what?
it's reading week!
then exams!
F***
but i will not give up at this min.
it's time to turn on the gear, and continue with this momentum and finish off the race on a high note.
and then back to army!!!!

Tuesday, March 09, 2004 - -

was reading a friend's blog.
my good friend back in the days of OCS.
one line caught my eye, "bravo wing was hell for me"
i didn't have to think hard to recall how negative he was,
and the reason i'm of cos clear.
basically everyone seems to ostracise him in some way or another.

well. but i thought hard about another matter.
why did my other platoon mates even thought of doing that?
there will be no waves w/o wind.
actually, i thought it could just be this simple reason.

男儿有泪不轻弹

Don't cry in front of others.
Do not show your weakness in front of others.
They might/might not empathsize with you... but they definitely use it as a reason to judge you or differentiate you.
my dear friend, worked hard, but always could not hide his true feelings, and almost always seems like exaggerating...
dear... have you thought because everyone sees that and think you are weak?
although you might not be that much weaker than any of us?
you must probably put up a brave front.
or work hard to put down your weakness.
for example, remember the soc test in ST2 that i finally made it @ 8 min 57 sec, i was really damn shagged, but i immediately worked to calm down my breathing, control it, dun pant like a dog.
but remember you were lying and panting like crazy, and realy whining on the floor?
and then LTA Low came and screw you?
you see the reason... to them... they are thinking... "damn you, are you a man or not?"
they were not wrong...
cos they believe that they were training officers, leaders of men; not men.
dear, if you had seen, we have people who were not that fit, and had ultimate endurance...
simon, peng leong, derrick amongst a few.
please note that not that you are wrong, but the norm then calls for manly display.
the resulting consequence of deviance, you have seen and experience it.

- -

learning is good isn't it?
but that probably means learning at your preferred pace...
unfortunately, we dun have that luxury.
studying is about memorising for me now, and i dun enjoy that.
but i've just digested pages of dev psych and stats,
and i felt i'm going to forgot them soon.

is this good for us?
the study system in university seems to be so rigid.
how do we actually benefit from juggling academics and extra-cirriculum activities?
so this is how the state breeds fresh blood with pouring creativity?
by hard mugging?

i shall spend more time and effort trying to find out over my years in nus
