Charity begins from home!

Little acts... are those that really touches our heart some times.
I am lucky to be able to witness this and let it be a lesson to me.

Was on bus 291 on the way home just now... and the bus was packed.
But, as always there's someone who needs the seat more that anyone else then did.
It was a pregnant lady, and she had already let her first child sat on the empty seat.
Beside them was a mother with her 2 boys.
The were seated in this way... Mother and one son on one 2-seater, the other son on the long seats.
So the very important part came from the mother standing up, ask the 2 boys to sit together and offer her son's previous seat to the pregnant lady! Yup, just this simple.

But there are enormous importance here:
She is setting a good example for her 2 sons, very important lesson. We all know that we learn a lot of our habits from our parents, directly or indirectly. But no matter wat, we always tend to model our parents. She has seeded the heart of charity in her 2 sons, in me, in whoever is conscious enough also about the lesson that can be learnt here.

I also wish to impart the best to my children next time. Who wouldn't want to?
In fact, sometimes when i'm reading about child development and conditioning in my psych text, i would really take note of those that tell us how we should bring up our child... ha... family oriented? Planning for the future? I dunno... get a wife first!

Reminds me of something... looks like Bai Cai, there's another couple in swaps.
I wonder whether they are open enough to let everyone know.
But hmm... i thought the guy was just showing infatuation, hmm who knows behind the scenes he actually checkmate the girl ... ha. Ok queer description. But still... it looks to me like Beauty and the Beast. It will be a very beautiful love story... all the best!!!

what a battle...

Exams finally over... my first ever NUS exam
although i have finished it on Wed morn, i still dun have any feelings of excitedness
remember after the TS paper on wed, i talked cock with my ts group for a while, and then with Jake, Ken and co for a lot more while, then made my way to join ah wai they all to sing.
Sang at K-box Marine Parade, but so damn....
we made a mistake, hmm wai told them we MIGHT sing to 9 instead of 7, but they CONCLUDED that we WILL sing to 9 and set the bill at 9's rate liao.
Damn. We all cannot sing by 5 liao, and instead of paying 12 - 13 for the thing, we paid 17 each. That's it. That signals the need to cut down expenses again.
And i am not turning up for the Thai buffet with the canoe khakis on sun. Total cut down on unnecessary charges. sad but no choice. Partly due to 2 good friends' 21st birthday yester and today. on presents for them, might amount to 30 or 40 plus, not confirm yet... but that is very siong liao. ha... bad year.... everyone is 21.

anyway... nearly falling sick liao... need to take care of myself.... absoluteeU coming up.

went for a sort of gathering for my JC CO.... organised by the 86s for our teacher... or when i went it seems like it's just another after exam activity. Well... ok... the main issue was that Zheng Lao shi is leaving our CO, because he will be very busy with his own stuff, and needs to let go of some COs. Very sad indeed. But if i were him, and i need to let go of one CO, i would choose TPJC CO too. There's simply not much you can get from our CO, judging from the little support that the school and principal is giving, and the quality or even quantity of the students. There really is not much to build on... we do not have a strong cohort of new intake every year, and with Yeo Hui gone, there is really no one else to fight for the CO like she did so fiercely during those years. As an ex-president, i know how hard it was to operate within such limits, and now we are getting even fewer support, and they cancelled our current junior's 2 years once concert, and also our new year concert next year.... so they cancelled ALL our major activities, what do they want?

Chatted all the way with conductor, chang and quan, well, i guess being the most mature batch around tonight, we had more topics in common with him, and of course since we are the only batch that gone thru the full course of army liao. Anyway, we saw quite a few of the others years going for the thing too, Kim Yan's batch and Ruoting's batch. Glad to see them anyhow,.. since after all, i have led them as my children while back in JC. but i guess i was quite a talk talk no action leader? i dunno... i think others would judge me better.

Agreed with chang today that we will each write a story about Ye Zi. Leaves.
he has been taking Creative writing in Chinese in NTU, and we sort of keep touching on the topic of writing and poems in our conversation tonight.
I was quite shocked he still remembered the starting of the story i wrote after Leonard's death as a remembrance.
Got to this point of arguing whose essays were better. I guess he was correct that i usually scored better, but i rebutted that cos Liu Lao Shi marked according to whether the story fitted the topic in terms of content and wrong words. So he's was better in terms of creativity.
It was finally agreed that we all had different style of writing.
His was more of a creative, rhyming, had more storyline
Mine was generally at depicting scenery, and personification.
He also reminded me about my exam essay back in year2 jc. That was the essay which i had the highest marks ever. Yup, i think he was correct. i think for that paper, upon 70 i got 64. i minus 3 or 4 marks for wrong words, so i got 32 or 33 upon 35 for content. i was glad it was my type of genre for that prelim paper... and i guessed that's one of the reasons i didn't do well for A lvl chi, cause the essay topics were all non-descriptive genre.
Ha... chang even told me something i forgot, which i wonder why he remembered, Yeo Hui used my that essay as teaching aid for her outside teaching (Yeo Hui was my CO teacher in charge, and a neighbouring Chi A teacher).... now it brings me to wonder, about my testimonials in friendster, a lot of them say my chi damn power, which i WAS ALWAYS wondering WHY? ok tonight i can slightly agree, i guess my essay part still can make it.
But i'm going to start writing about the LEAVES story soon.
Time to pick up the pen Zhisheng. You have rested too well long.

1 down! 4 to go

YES~~
1 paper down
4 more to go
Somehow... the exam atmosphere is quite different for NUS... dun feel that it's that strict as it is during all the wretched sec and jc days. Anyway i was almost late... although i had the intention to come early... somehow... i was still a bit late... well probably cos i had a stomachache and had to clear it in Engineering block.

Anyway, now that Chinese Studies is cleared, can focus probably on Psych liao.
I hope it's not a repeat of history as in A Levels. Chi A was my first paper too... and i spent bloody lots of time on it. But somehow i only managed a D on it. I was thinking at the end of the paper actually that hey.. it's easy... and i manage to understand and regurgitate quite well. I WAS expecting minimum a B... till today, i am still blaming it towards the Curve thing... still thinking cos all the HCJC, NYJC brats pushed us all the way to the bottom, cos it was really quite a manageable paper.

Today, ha... i was really lucky all the areas i focused on came out!
Or should i say i spotted the question correctly... or rather our tutors gave really big tips.
Well, sure am glad that it came out... but i cannot finish all the question. Really too much to write. But i am glad at least that i know how to ans, and not really stucked at wat to write.
Well, i dun expect an A for that, just hoping that i can at least get a B,... at least to justify the hard work i have put into this.

Suggestion: Shall we start a blog/forum for discussing psych related issues? the password can give to the whole bread clan... or a common password... then we can post and reply and discuss about psych related topics.... on a personal basis i mean...

or if not can ask su teck to combine his forum idea into this blog thing... cos i think blog thing more personal.

Anyway... to yz... i am not angry at you or anything... like i said ... dun think too much.
ha... it's me most of the time... i am most of the time angry with myself one,.... always blame myself for everything... or crediting everything to my own fault... like nana said... well... i will learn to relax. This exam period is a damn stressful period... why make myself more stressed by sulking and moaning and complaining?

Thanks to all of you for your concern thought. I'm fine!

How about this for an ideal woman?
quite a sexist picture...
but quite interesting isn't it?

what's wrong with my judgement?

going crazy just now.
before i reached the angels just now... the 95 bus ride got be carsick... dizzy...
after i left the angels .... i must be suffering from one of the days with the worst judgement...
well perhaps my mood wasn't that good... that's why i am so angry over it.
one more day to exam... time is such an impt issue to me now.. so silly

the stupid judgement thing begin with me making my way home.
1. Pondering whether to take bus or mrt: I chose Bus 65
damn i waited for that bloody bus for 20 min and every other bus number came 2 times at least... no. 14 came 4 times.... and when it finally came,... something like 40 people rushed for the entrance... damn i give up... i dun want to stand 45 min home...

2. Took the lucky plaza underpass to the other side, to Ngee Ann City... when i exited... i turned left.... but cannot find mrt entrance... so i had to walk back and take the other direction.

3. then as i was walking along ngee ann city/wisma atria... watever... i was looking out for the entrance to mrt stn.,... then i saw the door in to the building... i remember from there can go down to basement level ... and go to mrt... but damn!!! i went down 3 levels and met the entrance with the shutter pulled. So near yet so far... so stupid...

4. when i finally made it back up i try to walk out of the building... saw Topman... ah... i remember there's an exit there... but dunno inside topman or beside topman... so i went there... damn it's inside topman... which is closed! so i walked back to the same entrance i came in from... so stupid...

5. now i got to the mrt... boarded it... initial plan go to raffles place... before city hall... so i can get a seat... too demoralised to stand now... then the train stoped at city hall first... seeing that there was no one... i thought hmmm... maybe can get a seat from here...
but stupid zhisheng... no one means the train just left... next train would prob be 6 to 7 min later.. enough time for you to seat one more stop to Raffles place and get a seat!!! damn... i stood all the way to Tampines....

Maybe it was just because i was pissed off that i keep on making mistakes... well the first mistake started my pissing off.... and every single mistake later on made me very angry... i was questioning myself," are you sure you went thru ocs... and learnt topo-ing(i.e. navigating)" ZHISHENG you have so bad direction sense then. Every single bad feeling was amplified. wah cannot believe it was so bad....
Good thing thru the whole trip i was letting out steam... cooling myself down... thinking of ways to release my stress tomorrow... must be my paranoid self getting the best of me. Let go zhisheng, let go.

The sch library sucks today. came to sch at 11, but the central library was packed... like yueheng said. and i know studying with those sardines wasn't a wise thing. they would be talking and talking... or whispering... and all their combined little actions would drive the hell out of me. after i met ripple to give her the notes... she recommended CJ Koh Law library. well it was cold... but it was not a bad place to study. well... a bit productive today. never mind that... now impt just relax.. and get the first paper over.

It's a shame that this blog is becoming a place to vent all my frustration. Soon i would want it to turn this into somewhere i would blog wonderful insights of life. Till then, please endure my whinings.

ts practical exam
Angels in America

feel that i must blog this
because the TS practical exam was a memorable incident
so sad again cos i wasted another day for studying again though.

Well for an account of the run of events building up towards practical exam
1100 - rushing to sch, not without checking props and costumes thoroughly
1130 - reading up final bit for the q & a session
1230 - reached sch... saw Efran and Edwina, the rest not there, although i was late, they
were later...
1245 - start rehearse proper though cannot find good place. NUS locked up all the
classrms, leaving only 1 or 2 opened. Damn, wat were they thinking... come on,
open up for people to study loh....
1330 - 1 round finished, then rest for make up etc... rehearsed outside LT8, but dunno why
we chose the grass patch, then the hot sun came out....
1400 - make up! finalise light cues!
1445 - made our way to near LT13, rehearse full dress along staircase, then one of the
teaching stuff came out to confront us, say we too loud, complain they always kenna
disturbed. Hey come on, we are having a test, and need a place to rehearse!!!
1515 - finished! and it was pouring... dunnno why... but the full dress... wow... damn hot...
i was wearing damn a lot of clothes... then we went to wait outside LT13, saw
Daryl's group... woh.. they were complaining about the panel... welll was scary a bit
as they were saying like they shoot at anything and the 2 women just can't stop
criticizing....
1530 - gerald came out to tell us we can go in liao... and so we went in! went first to
program all the lights , then we went to attached the web diana made to the flybar,
then yes! it's time for full costume on and double check everything. had time to take
a few photographs... shall post them when i develop them. good memories!
1610 - well everything goes! we started with introduction of ourselves, and scenes...
1635 - i think... ha not sure timing, but i am quite happy just to let go and go act. and yes
there were cockups... like ripple not standing in the circle of light, music too loud...
lights on too early, efran forgetting his lines(cannot blame, too long!), and worse of
all, the last line "millenium approaches" they had problems with the cds, so no song,
but both ripple and diana went to settle that, and no one turn off the lights, or
played the music.... i guess they weren't listening to the play, and the play
ended badly i think, though the judges prob won't think that much. but well,
shouldn't be too angry.... would spoil relationships one
1645 - presenting wat ever we know to the judges for q & a session. some of the things
brought out, that was worth mentioning... they commented maggie is a budding
actress, efran's roy role should bring out more gay motives, esp scene that was
tussling with me, the tone shouldn't be that fierce, or should suggest for Joe to love
him watever, why we used the choice of music we had, Mr Lies' role, should be
more of a jazz musician and not wat i portrayed? dun really get them, but they said
Mr Lies and Joe should not be the same actor, that i remember And that was their
trick question. Efran commenting about Gerald's body. And Dr Seet teasing him...
ha... and well they commented that our play was energtic! prob cos they watched
quite a lot of Blood Wedding before us, good for a change!
1700 - finally finished... good packing up... wished feng's group good luck before we finally
end our day, heard the girls say the female judges really like our part where the
eskimo appeared! ha, encouraging. Then we stopover at Coffee Club Xpress for
something to eat and drink and congratulate each other and linger in our final
completion of this damn time consuming prac exam!

Overall, i really enjoy the practical part of Theatre Studies, got to know some really good friends, and the ability to appreciate drama and theatre more, and be a more competent audience, and helper, and individual. Love it!
I would miss the days of TS Prac, with daryl josh claire efran feng they all, watever...
miss you dears!

Joined the bread clan for KTV after that, ha... although didn't sing as much as i would want to, i was happy to be out with the guys.
Then went with the "Charlie Angels", or rather the "Cha-Xi" Angels (Noisy Angels) to eat dinner. Watch them eat more than i eat, and suan Shiyun, the “不是东西“ 的 “东北“ 女孩.
Well... i enjoy chatting with you all also.
Anyway, now that exams for TS prac is over, finally can start to study all the way. shall study smartly as they suggested... so i hope i won't be so stressed.
Sian tomorrow/today still got Advance theory exam
won't pass one, i think, just take for experience loh.

time for a break

yup yup
decided to slow down / blog occasionally / stop blogging for the next few weeks.
thanks for all those who showed me so much concern.
i guess i have been stressing myself too much for this exam
was chatting just now with an old buddy Ching Yao,
he told me Zhijian cough out blood on his first paper (NTU), i was like thinking ... wow...
Lord, please take care of him
Maybe i shouldn't take it so seriously, at least just do the best i can!
the NUS days are still long ~
i dun wanna end up being a freak in NUS.

but i wasted another day on TS practical rehearsal today,
so time is getting lesser.
Time management is now very impt, i think i should even switch on the computer less
Exercises should come in more often i guess...
since a fit body helps you to be able to focus better.
Maybe i should increase my jogging from twice a week to thrice a week
see lah ... dunno
till then
Good luck for practical exam!

Thursday, November 06, 2003 - -

there is a time for everything,
but how should i know at this moment?

still deciding whether i should stop blogging totally for the next 4 weeks.
I just can't stop sitting in front of the computer and typing away most nights.
But i would want more precious time for studying now.
For this next 4 weeks
For my first NUS exams.

This TS practical exam thing is getting into me.
I need to spend half the day minimal everyday these 3 days to resource, plan, discuss this damn thing.
True, it's interesting, it's really fun to be doing your own production
Planning your own lighting, your own style, your own sets.
I am sort of like the director, so i often make decision on how to stage.
But i guess i can't handle rejections well.
I spent the whole morning researching and reading up on brechtian style, on how tony kushner staged Angels in America, but they just find it strange to do it loh. I guess it would help our production, but to them it seems strange.
I dun want to argue my way thru, wat's the point if everyone does it not happily.
SO rush for rehearsal today, really wished i had more time.
Which made me get into a bad mood at the end of the day.
Specially came down to rehearse, so i was hoping everything goes fast and smooth so i can squeeze out time to study.
But when i saw Maggie, Diana they all doing things at quite a slow pace, i just cannot take it loh. Here i am, trying to rush things, get things done quickly, but you all not cooperating.
Think thru about wat i say also need to take so long.
Damn
Thank you Lord for giving me the patience to reason out myself before i burst out into rage.
It's only me, not them at fault.
They couldn't be sure what i was thinking.
How are able to know wat i was thinking and try to cooperate?
We didn't really tell them how to do the lights, how to operate this that, and wat we want for this scene that scene, how can they act fast like that?
SO it's just me conplaining, so i am angry with myself.
Directing all those frustration back at myself.
Damn. But i've lost another day to study, and i'm angry about that.
My desire to do well for this first exam is strong.
I dunno how to control that, or talk myself into relaxing.
Just want to let go of all these and dig a hole, plant a light and study.
Abnormal? shit
I ought to come to terms with myself.
And hey thanks, gardenia, for asking. Long time since anyone cared for me like this.

Had an idea this afternoon, wanted to write/blog today about
Zhisheng defence mechanism
but after my anger, and frustration, i have forgotten what i want to write.
just jot it here to blog about it next time.
If anyone of you reading this, help me tell those who i let see my bad mood know that i'm not angry with them or something, most of the time it's just me angry with myself. If they ask lah. dunwanna lose friends like that.

Received a letter from ChengSan CO, they want me to become their new secretary. The term or appointment is 2 years. But i am not sure whether i can do it.
I am not doubting my capabilities, i know if i am focused enough i can do a lot of things. I am worried about my commitment. I am already busy enough and crazy in school liao, am i able to take up another committee post outside?
Seriously i dunno.
I can't guarantee how much commitment i can give to Cheng San.
Why must all these come during exams.
Urgh...

hey ... i'm seriously thinking of continuing to 写作.
Since i dun really write nowadays, writing bits and pieces in my blog might help me to start it off. Might just start another blog for writing only.

some phrases i wrote 3 years ago.

and one 开头 i wrote which i haven't being able to write on also.

hope i find the time and feeling to write finish this story.

魔力咖啡 demonic coffee

i just had my 4th cup of coffee.
wow... i never used to drink coffee at all before army.
But coffee is saving my life nowadays, it just gave me that extra bit of concentration to study.
It perks you loh... and i just keep absorbing from my lectures and reading.
well... i completed a chinese reading in half the time i took for a similar number of pages yesterday.
Well, i surrender
I shall rely on coffee till exams end.
Somehow, being able to study and absorb so much thing makes my mood better.
Not as touchy as other days before today.
Except for Dear old Gerald Chew who screwed up my timing again...
Yesterday we went for our first rehearsal for play "Angels in America"
But he gave our time slot to another group.
Well that group was ok... Twain i think was ok... reasonable except the other girl who was quite bossy loh.
"I'm not going to leave the room loh" well she trying to make her stand. But well Gerald screwed us. We were the rightful owners to this timing
So he offered us another timing today, saying that it's free.
Then today he told me while i was rushing to school for it, that's it's NOT.
Now there is 4 groups sharing that 3 hours, so we have to use 45 min each. Damn.
As Sharalee says, Gerald does seems to have very bad organisation.

Back to studying part.
On the way home, i suddenly had an explanation for why i was working so hard.
I was obviously working unexpectedly hard for this sem
Why? i had never been this hardworking after sec 1
I used to tell myself maybe it's because i dun wanna slag anymore. Dun want to be under other people's limelight anymore (used to be under Junjie's ... ha)
Then today, i was thinking, a some part of it must be, at least... that i dun want to lose to the girls in the same year as me.
I'm thinking that i'm 2 years older, so i shouldn't be losing out to people in the 84's.
Subconsciously, they are my mei mei loh... can't be losing out to them
I dun think of that consciously, but i think i have that idea in me subconsciously

Male Chauvinist? Ingrained perhaps. A innate drive for superiority, or maybe also an underlying prejudice of ancient superior role of men over women.

Well, scary to think of that though. But it might just be true, although it's a guess.
But why not?

咖啡因,你在哪里?

want to spend a quick few minutes on my blog.
blogging has become sort of a way for me to speak to someone.
To tell the computer how i felt today.
So mechanical, but no choice.
Someday i would need a confidant.

Quite a bad day studying.
Went early to library to study, but just can't keep my mind focused.
my mind would just stoned loh
Wonder whether it's the side effect of caffeine
I didn't take coffee today at all.
First i tried not to take.
Later on i could not take it(keep falling asleep) and so i went down to get one.
Damn i not enough coins, so used cash card.
The first machine cash card reader spoilt.
The 2nd one ok, and i'm sure i pressed Nescafe.
But QOO came out.
"Hey, no coffee, stay Qoo...."
I was really thinking of that. So naturally cold loh.
Wah lau eh.
Machine also bully me.

While walking home, something struck me.
I was always taking part in those RP, some were regarding how we would react as an individual and how we would react while in our social/ethnic group, or just in our group.
We Asians are classified to have a collectivist culture, so the benefit of the group precedes all. So we are more committed to the community we belong to rather than to ourselves as individuals.
Hey, here's how it relates.
Today was my TS prac group's first rehearsal for Angels in America.
We went at 2, our slot, but there was another group already ther, and seemed quite determined not to leave, but willing to clarify.
Yup, we called Gerald, and he screwed us up. He prob forgot to check that we had this slot, and gave our slot to another group. Damn.
So our group was benevolent enough to share half half loh.
But before that, i was reacting in quite a worked out way, quite unlikely of me at times.

So i realised, it was because i was arguing for my group. Because of the identity we had as our own TS group, we are willing to stand up when the group or anyone in the group is being bullied.
Now that rings a bell of what i studied in Psych too.
Social psych i think, where they discussed why prejudice, discrimination occurs.

In my group, when danger or difficulties arise, the sense of identity and community is activated somehow, and i went on a "touchy" mode (ha), ready to defend the group and be on the offensive if necessary.

So was that why Germans discriminated the Jews? Have they turned their frustration from economic downturns and unemployment to another race, because they were easier to target (displacement - a defence mechanism, credits to zee who reminded me)
And so many examples of racial discrimination that occurs in many parts of the world now.
something quite good to think about for me, probably after holidays,
cos it might just help me in understanding when i further my studies in psych in the future.

i really feel that i'm spending too much time on computer.
Wanted to study for TS test 2 after coming back from IMM yesterday night
But i spent the whole night on computer.
First on my proj, then on the blog.
Figuring out how to use HTML to customise my blog.
Shit.
So jittery this morning, rushing to read whatever i can.
When the test came, a whole chunk of it came from Semiotics 2, and i just re-typed Semiotics 2 only just Sat, after finishing my project ans studying in Tampines North CC reading room.
Damn.
And i cannot recall what i written. And i even went to search for all the words i didn't understand over an online dictionary that same night.
Now i can't remember anything. Goes to show that i didn't really encode anything that i wished i had for the exam!
Really feeling damn shitty about it.
On the bus and MRT, I was like cursing at every single thing that irritated me.
Suddenly become so critical of things, every noise in the surrounding. Every person who'n not considerate enough on the bus, escalator, corridor.
Damn. Is that me?
Shouldn't be becoming so shitty.
Or was it just that i was too touchy that time, get easily irritated.
I guess it is.
Same as when we were in army, when one is damn shagged, dun go and provoke him.
Some thing which he might take for a joke during normal times,
he most prob will just blow up when he is in adverse conditions.
Probably that's stress. Probably that's what we all must learn to control and live with.
Damn.

didn't blog for a while...
but i'm worried about studying all the time... ha what's with me?
i also dun want to be restrained by the blog.
dun see that i have to blog everyday.. instead when i feel that there is something worth noting down.

today i was thinking about dedicating another blog...
for my experience in OCS.
the account on JCC really brought back "lovely" memories...
the suffering seems lovely now ha.

so...
what made me want to blog today?
Soong Sisters
If you know the wonderful song by Kitaro, Soong Sisters...
helps if that song is ringing in your mind now...

I really like the Soong Sisters, i mean the movie
I like the dynasty stories of China, so you can see i'm the type who watched those China made shows "杨家将", "秦始皇", "三国演义","东周列国"etc etc. Trust me, i watched all of them.
Didn't really like modern history of China, specifically after Qing Dynasty was overthrown.
I always thought that the history of all those Warlords, Marshals, Sun Yat-sen wasn't interesting.
Now that i'm studying Chinese Studies, and watching "走向共和", which is a show on China moving towards the republic, i am suddenly caught by the whirlwind of history. Recently, Soong Mei Ling died, and that really brought back scenes of the famous Soong Sisters.

The Soong Dynasty, a family of 3 important women in the history of modern china.
Soong Ai-ling, married Kong Xiang Xi, China's richest man, and finanace minister
Soong Ching-ling, married Sun Yat Sen, father of Republic China
Soong May-ling, married the Chiang Kai-Shek, leader of Nationalist Party

Ai-Ling a pragmatist, Ching-Ling a pro-Communist idealist, and May-Ling an important player in the Nationalist Party

All 3 women linked by fate to the development of Modern China
isn't that actually very 凄美?

One of the few scenes that i like very much is the scene where the 3 sisters gather back at their mother's deathbed. Ai-ling and May-ling comes into the room to find Ching-ling beside the mother. She just returned from Russia, and the 3 sisters gathered around their mother... and they talked about how long has it been since she saw the 3 sisters together..
Then they recalled about their father, and May-ling went over to play the piano.. and yup, the song she played was "The Soong Sisters" by Kitaro. Then Ching-ling came over and join her in a duet. And then Ai-ling joins in with her violin. The beautiful music lingers, and the scene transforms over to when they were young, and were learning music, the same piece, under the guidance of their mother. Then it switched back with them still playing, but the scene moves over to the mother who has passed on peacefully under the harmonoius melody jointly orchestrated by the 3 sisters.
Very touching scene

Now that I have done Theatre Studies as a module, i found myself more able to enjoy the movie. I have learn to judge the movie critically, submerged myself more into the mood of the movie, and find the meaning. Alot of scene just suddenly strike me so powerfully. It's like, i just suddenly realise this scene, that scene is so symbolical, or so instrumental in bringing the meaning of that whole block of scenes out.
Even though yesterday night was the third time i'm watching that movie.

Yup... history waits for no man.
And history does records some of the best faces of human.
And knowledge is the key to unlock all these wonderful abyss.
With knowledge, can you be better equipped to try to understand that whole wealth of experience... to have enough audience competence... as TS calls it.
Is the music of Kitaro's The Soong Sisters still in your mind?
It still lingers in mine.
